The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a Coastal Inundation Alert in the southern coastal areas of Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele, Southern Viti Levu, Lomawai to Sigatoka and Korolevu to Pacific Harbour up to Navua Areas, Moala, Matuku, Totoya, Moce, Kabara, Ogea, Fulaga, Vatoa and Ono-I-Lau.
They say wave heights are expected to range between 3.0 to 4.0 metres over the above places.
The public is advised that they will expect seawater rises, high enough that it floods infrastructure and buildings or endangers peoples' safety.
Some typical impacts of coastal inundation include flooding of roads and walking paths, limited beach access and flooding of parks and reserves.
