A Coastal Inundation Alert is now in force for all low lying coastal areas of Southern Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Central and Southern Lau Groups.
The Weather Office says a high pressure system to the far Southwest of Fiji is expected to generate and direct moderate to heavy Southerly swells over the Southern waters of Fiji which may result in coastal inundation over the Southern low lying coastal areas.
They say low lying coastal areas of Southern Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Central and Southern Lau Groups can expect sea flooding of coastal areas during high tides.
The Weather Office says coastal inundation of debris along low lying coastal areas especially during high tides and will be dangerous for recreational activities.
The next high tide is at 8 tonight.
