Liverpool’s first game as champions of the English Premier League has not gone as planned after they were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester City this morning.
Liverpool were crowned champions last week after a 30 year wait.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for City before Raheem Sterling doubled their advantage.
Phil Foden added a third late in the first after as City went into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.
Sterling then scored his second after the break to pile further misery on his former club.
This was only Liverpool’s second defeat in the Premier League this season.
Meanwhile in an earlier match Sheffield United stunned Tottenham 3-1.
