Former Fiji Weightlifter Eileen Cikamatana has qualified to participate in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in July for Australia.
The 22-year-old could become the first woman to win gold in the Commonwealth Games for two different countries in an individual event.
Cikamatana claimed gold for Fiji in the 90kg class at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and is among an 11-strong Australian weightlifting squad striving for success in England.
After becoming an Australian citizen in 2019, Cikamatana went to claim gold in the Junior World Cup events in 2019 and 2020.
Cikamatana says getting an opportunity to represent another country, where you get respected for what you do, it is a dream come true.
She adds there are no words that can describe what she is feeling because she is participating to get more medals, break records and make the country proud.
