Christmas came early for 15 families of Valelevu in Dama, Bua as they now have better access to basic services following the commissioning of their new access road that cost $45,400.
Assistant Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Jovesa Vocea says the Government will continue to work towards elevating the lives of Fijians, especially those in rural and maritime areas.
Vocea says the road will improve the living standards of residents by way of accessibility to town, school hospitals and also by enhancing the economic achievements of the community.
He adds the Government will continue its work to assist people in the rural and remote areas in infrastructures they need.
The project was funded by the Ministry of Rural and Maritime’s Cane Access Road, Footpath and Footbridge program.
