China got to a flying start on the first official day of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games by winning two gold medals in the 10m air rifle mixed team and the 3m springboard events.
Sheng Lihao and Huang Yuting claimed a close 16-12 win over South Korean shooters in the final of the 10m air rifle mixed team, while Kazakhstan earlier won bronze.
Chang Yani and Chen Yiwen quickly added China's second gold when they won the synchronized 3m springboard final, finishing ahead of the American pair of Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook, who claimed silver, with Britain's Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen taking bronze.
In Châteauroux, the National Shooting Center is hosting the shooting sports events, a discipline that has been part of the modern Olympic Games since the very beginning.
