The Chiefs who failed to win a single game during last year’s Super Rugby Aotearoa have shown early signs of improvement under new coach Clayton McMillan.
The Chiefs edged the Hurricanes 19-14 and the Blues 12-5 to emerge as the only unbeaten team during today’s Game of Three Halves pre-season event.
Jonathan Taumateine and Wes Goosen scored breakaway tries to hand the Hurricanes a 14-5 win against the Blues in the last game of the day.
