Chew directs internal investigation into allegations of assault

The Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew has directed the Divisional Police Commander East to provide a brief to his office on the allegations of assault made against Nausori Police officers.

Chew has also directed Internal Affairs to conduct an investigation.

There are claims on social media by a woman who says her brother was allegedly assaulted by police officers from Nausori and they stole $185 and a mobile phone.

The post also claimed that the victim was returning from work and was arrested without any knowledge of what he has been accused of.
