Chelsea’s Champion League match against Bayern Munich will be played behind closed doors at the Allianz Arena due to concerns over COVID-19.
The second leg of the last 16 ties in Munich, set for next Wednesday will now not permit fans to attend.
The decision comes after the Bavarian state opted to cancel all events with over 1,000 attendees, which means Bayern’s home game against Dusseldorf will also be played behind closed doors.
The decision contrasts with the call for RB Leipzig vs Tottenham tonight, with fans permitted to attend the game at the Red Bull Arena.
But the game in Munich joins Valencia vs Atalanta, PSG vs Dortmund, Juventus vs Lyon, and Barcelona vs Napoli as last 16 games to be played behind closed doors.
