Police set up checkpoints at various locations following report of a missing taxi

Police have set up checkpoints at various locations in the Southern Division after a taxi, registration LT-7191 was reported missing.

Some people have told us there was huge traffic on all lanes leading to Laqere Bridge earlier today.

Police say the taxi is owned by a 39-year-old man of Tuirara in Makoi.

They say the driver was heavily intoxicated and knocked out after drinking with some of his friends yesterday and noticed his car missing when he woke up.

A report was then lodged at the Nasinu Police Station.
