If people want to engage with overseas investors, they have to go through due diligence and check if the investors are real or fake.
This was highlighted by Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru when questioned by fijivillage News whether the Minister has been updated on the investigation that is underway involving the Permanent Secretary for Sports and Permanent Secretary for Forestry by the Public Service Commission in regards to the $115 million wind turbine project signed between American based company Infinite Power Clean Energy Limited, the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry and the Fiji Sports Council.
Earlier this month, the Public Service Commission Chair Luke Rokovada confirmed that they were examining the involvement of the two permanent secretaries in this project.
Rokovada says they had completed their investigation and signed the report that was given to the Office of the Prime Minister.
He says it is for them to decide what further action they will take.
Meanwhile, Saukuru says he had no idea on what transpired out of that agreement, but they would really love to see a lot of mutual arrangements where they can work with investors that come to Fiji.
He says when he came into the leadership role, he was not aware of the project.
