20-year-old Khushbu Chand has won the Navtarang & Radio Sargam Diwali Sweets and Savouries competition with Golden Harvest for the third consecutive year.
The Wainadoi resident says she made more sweets and savories this year compared to previous years and is always learning from others by taking part in these competition.
Chand says she and her mother started preparing for the competition last week and has lost count of the number of things they made.
Some unique dishes prepared by Chand and her mom include potato, nutrella and noodle samosa, coconut modak, chomchom, fruit dahi, dhalchini nimkins, agar agar barfi and okra fritters.
She has won a gift pack from Ashbhai and also won $500 cash.
Chand says she is going to give her winnings to her parents who will then decide what to do with it.
Second prize winner Priti Zariq says her son and her husband motivated her to take part in the competition.
She also won second prize in the Rangoli Sajawat Competition with Rups Big Bear last week.
Zariq says she gets ideas from social media and browsing the internet.
She also won a gift pack from Ashabhai and $200 cash.
Third prize winner, Raujia Shabnam won an Ashabhai gift pack and $100 cash.
Communications Fiji Limited General Manager, Charles Taylor says it is amazing to see such talent and even during this time of COVID-19 and the struggles people have had, they have still pulled off a fiercely contested competition.
He also thanked Ashabhai for their sponsorship and support.
The competition was judged by Dentist Dr. Maher Angez, Dietician Rukhmani Chand and Businesswoman, Sudha Pala.
They also received a certificate each for their support and contribution towards Communications Fiji Limited.
