As many Fijians are still struggling this Holi because of the impacts of COVID-19, 26-year-old Avneel Chand says he has been working three jobs for about 9 years and is encouraging people not to lose hope.
Chand says he is going to miss his family in Ba today as he is working a night shift in Suva and will not be able to visit them.
Chand says he will miss his mother as she usually makes a lot of sweets and they also sing and dance today.
However, Chand says he has to make those sacrifices for his family and people need to realise that there will be tough days but they must continue to work hard.
Fijivillage also spoke to some other people on how they will be spending their day.
Holi signifies the triumph of good over evil, as it celebrates the victory of Lord Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu.
It also celebrates the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love and for many, it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.
