The chances of the Fiji soccer team qualifying for the gold medal final of the Pacific Games are very slim after New Caledonia beat Tahiti last night.
Fiji will need to win their final group match against Solomon Islands and then hope that Tuvalu registers its first win at the Games by beating the unbeaten New Caledonia side.
Fiji is second with 9 points while New Caledonia is first with 12 points.
Tuvalu lost to Tahiti 7-0, they were beaten by Solomon Islands 13-0 while Fiji beat them 10-1.
Fiji play the Solomon Islands at 6pm this Thursday while New Caledonia takes on Tuvalu at 9am on the same day.
The final is at 11am Saturday.
