The Centennial celebrations for the arrival of the last Girmitiyas that came on board the Sutlej V (5) will be launched tomorrow at Albert Park.
President Jioji Konrote will be the Chief Guest at tomorrow’s launch and the celebrations will be done throughout the country till Friday.
Suva Celebration Chairman Ashok Balgovind says they will have many things planned for tomorrow’s event which includes a march from the Flea Market to Albert Park which will start at around 9.30am.
He says the float will have a replica of a part of the Sutlej V (5) and people will be in Girmit attire.
Students will also be part of the float.
Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra says they will be in charge of traffic control.
He says that the road closure will only be for the duration of the march and they will ensure that children taking part in the march are safe.
