As Hindus all over the world prepare for the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple in the birthplace of Lord Ram on Monday, the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji is calling on devotees to celebrate the day like mini-Diwali.
Sabha President, Dhirendra Nand says they are encouraging all Hindu followers to decorate their homes, places of worship and temples and to come together and observe this very important day.
Nand also says the ICCR devotional group has come from India to perform for the people of Fiji, with a few local mandali.
He says there will be musical presentations and recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa at different locations throughout the country until Monday.
Nand says the opening of the temple in Ayodhya is important for all Hindu followers in Fiji and they are very excited about this program.
It covers an expansive 70 acres, featuring the main temple on a 2.7 acre land, measuring 161 feet in height. The temple is designed with three floors and 12 gates.
The Government of India set up the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust in February 2020 for the construction and management of the temple.
