The Catholic Church will provide food packs for homeless people for Christmas this year.

Archbishop Reverend Dr Peter Loy Chong says they will also give blankets to those who need them.

Chong says each Parish has their own plans about sharing and helping out those that are less fortunate.

He adds that this Saturday he will open the Gates of Mercy at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Suva and hopes that people will be empowered by God’s mercy and become agents of mercy.
