Car bomb kills 8 people near US Embassy

A car bomb targeting a convoy of foreign troops exploded near the US Embassy in Kabul late yesterday afternoon, killing eight people and wounding 25 others.

A US military official said three U.S. troops were among the wounded.

According to interior ministry spokesman, the blast hit Kabul police district 9, near the embassy and Supreme Court.
