Captain Sam Cane has been named the All Black of the Year at the New Zealand Rugby Awards last night.
Cane who led the All Blacks to the defence of the Bledisloe Cup and the Tri-Nations title in his first year as skipper, beat Aaron Smith and Dane Coles to the award.
Despite a first-ever loss to Argentina and a defeat and draw to Australia, Cane put in some of his best performances of his All Blacks career.
Meanwhile Richie Mo’unga was named Super Rugby player of the year ahead of Aaron Smith, Patrick Tuipulotu and Jordie Barrett.
Crusaders coach Scott Robertson claimed the Coach of the Year Award.
