Cancer is the third leading cause of death in Fiji and about 1,300 people are diagnosed with it every year.
This was revealed by Minister for Health Jone Usamate at the signing of the World Cancer Declaration.
Usamate says most of this has to do with breast, cervix, colon and liver and 41% or around 533 people dies from the disease.
He says by 2025, Fiji will improve access to accurate cancer diagnosis, quality multi board room treatment, rehabilitation, supportive and penetrative care service.
