It was a momentous occasion for former Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s rep Apenisa Cakaubalavu after fulfilling his dream of becoming a Police Officer.
Cakaubalavu was part of the 217 police recruits who passed out from the Nasova Police Academy.
Speaking in the i-Taukei language, Cakaubalavu says he had set two targets to achieve and becoming a Police Officer was one of them as he always dreamt about becoming a Police officer when he was a young boy.
He says he joined the Police Force in 2019 as a special constable, and after three years, he was picked to be recruited into the organisation.
Cakaubalavu says the training was very challenging, and at one point he wanted to give up, but his squad motivated him to push through.
He also highlighted that he will be advocating for youth development when he gets posted at the Sigatoka Police Station because nowadays most youths are abusing and breaking the law.
The former Fiji 7s rep says his next target is to be part of the Olympic 7s team next year.
His mother, Kelera Waqatevuya was in tears while witnessing her son achieve his dream of becoming a Police Officer.
