The Cabinet has endorsed reviewing the Education Act 1966 to meet the evolving needs of students, teachers, parents, and the broader community.
The Cabinet which held its 15th meeting yesterday, says the Act serves as the foundational legislation that governs the provision and administration of education in Fiji.
They say a comprehensive review of the Act is long overdue.
Cabinet says the review is to ensure the alignment with the current educational landscape and to address educational issues or gaps that may have emerged since its last revision.
They add the comprehensive review will be undertaken through a nationwide consultation process.
