Jonathan David scored the lone goal for Canada in the 74th minute.
Peruvian defender Miguel Araújo was handed a red card in the 59th minute after striking Canadian winger in the shins as they battled for the ball.
Meanwhile, defending champion, Argentina will play Chile this hour.
