Good news for the youths residing in Nasinu as a new vocational centre has been commissioned at the CMF College in Newtown to elevate the lives of the youths and pave a future for them.
CMF College Principal Maikali Benaca says this initiative will be the beacon of hope during times of challenges where crises such as drugs and HIV are on the rise.
Benaca says these challenges not only threaten our community but also undermine the soul of our society.
He says we need to ensure that our youths are not only equipped with knowledge but also with practical skills that will empower them to build a brighter future.
The school principal says they will continue to strive to address the pressing needs of Nasinu.
The Founder of CMF College, Reverend Suliasi Kurulo, says their commitment is more than just the introduction of the Vocational Centre but to create opportunities for everyone.
Reverend Kurulo says their programme will include components that raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse by promoting a holistic approach to education and nurturing the minds of students spiritually.
He says their vocational programmes are designed to offer comprehensive training to various professions, which include health care, information technology, skill trades and entrepreneurship.
The founder says through this vocational programme, they aim to provide not only skill training but also support and guidance to students in fulfilling lives and coming out from doing such illegal activities.
Meanwhile, CMF College also celebrated its 10th anniversary today.
