The Christian Mission Fellowship Church in Kinoya intends to collaborate and partner with the government for the development of the education sector.
They plan to build a vocational centre to accommodate and train unemployed youths and school dropouts, which is currently in the pipeline for the church committee.
The Church is also looking forward to building another school infrastructure block and, therefore, has requested collaborative efforts and support from the government to access donor funds and open pathways for development partners to invest in.
During the National Development Plan consultation in the Central Division, members of the Church also suggested the need to focus on educating and training the local community, construction of youth centres, inclusion of nature-based solution projects into the school curriculum and more emphasis on moral values and culture.
Meanwhile, Nadonumai residents have requested the government to prioritise the formalisation of the informal settlements and allocation of land lots to accelerate housing development in their area.
Other issues raised by the residents in the consultation include the plans to improve the road conditions by tarsealing, strategies to address the high cost of living, reviewing shipping services and price controls, establishing a dispensary, increasing police presence to ensure a reduction in crime rate, waste collection and address issues about climate change and environment.
