Communications Fiji Limited states that CFL is in regular contact with the family of the deceased and the two other victims recovering in hospital after the tragic ferris wheel accident at Fiji Showcase 2023 last Friday.
CFL General Manager, Charles Taylor says they remain on standby to assist when and where required.
Taylor also says apart from the merry-go-round, all other mechanical amusement rides at Fiji Showcase have been suspended while they await police instructions for their removal from the venue after the tragic accident.
He says CFL also acknowledges and thanks the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Agni Deo Singh and his Ministry for its report.
Taylor says as stated, a National OHS team on behalf of the amusement ride operators conducted and passed all rides prior to the event and a certificate was received.
He says CFL will continue to assist the ministry and police with ongoing investigations.
Taylor confirms that the mechanical rides will be replaced with bouncy castles.
