Outgoing Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and Fiji Water Flying Fijian’s coach Mick Byrne believes the team is in great shape and needs a bit more composure and understanding of the game going ahead which comes with experience.
While speaking after their 36-5 loss to the Blues in the quarter final of the Shop n Save Super Rugby Pacific, Byrne says assistant coach Glenn Jackson who will also be the new head coach, forwards coach Greg Fleming and defence coach Alistair Rogers have been awesome and they probably need to just continue to grow the team's physical presence and get their fitness levels going again.
Byrne says Jackson is going to take them to another level as his coaching is going to be outstanding for them.
Looking ahead, the Flying Fijians coach says he is looking forward to the match against the All Blacks in San Diego next month and catch up with the players in the Northern Hemisphere.
Fiji will play the All Blacks on the 20th of July.
Meanwhile, the Brumbies play the Blues at 7.05pm Friday while the Hurricanes meet the Chiefs at 4.35pm Saturday.
