The Water Authority of Fiji says burst mains is the main reason for the water disruptions in the Waila area.
Fijivillage has questioned the Authority why Waila residents face frequent water cuts.
The Water Authority says disruptions such as burst mains occur when the water pressure is increased to meet the demands.
The water looks for the weakest point or part of the water line or pipe and this results in a burst main, which causes water disruptions.
However the Authority has also stated that the demand in the Waila area is average and not high.
The Authority has stated that they have repaired all pipes along the Waila Treatment Plant Road.
The Authority has also stated that they will look into the water supply issues for the Waila area if there is another burst pipe in the next month.
It hopes that the previous repairs have resolved the issue.
