The Fiji Emergency Medical Assessment Teams have covered Bua and most parts of Macuata.

This has been confirmed by the Minister for Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu.

Seruiratu says the Minister for Health and his teams are in Cakaudrove today, to cover the districts of Navatu, Koroalau, Saqani, and Tawake.

He says they are providing health services to villagers and conducting their assessments to prevent the outbreak of Leptospirosis, Typhoid, Dengue and Diarrhea.

Seruiratu says the teams will take another visit to the areas they have covered to spray chemical.

He says the major health challenge now is general clean-up.

Seruiratu says the Commissioner Northern had a meeting with the Roko Tui and Provincial Administrators to plan their clean-up to ensure communities are clean before the emergency medical teams spray the chemical.
