England has confirmed fast bowler Brydon Carse will replace opening bowler Reece Topley after he had sustained a fractured finger in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup match against South Africa on Saturday.
28-year-old Carse has taken 14 wickets in 12 one-day internationals, featuring most recently against Ireland last month.
He is likely to fly to India today for their upcoming match against Sri Lanka.
England will face Sri Lanka at 8.30pm on Thursday.
England will need to win all five of their remaining games to qualify for the knockout stage.
