Australia’s most successful team in Super Rugby history isn’t just lurking, they’re on the charge.
Forget the Blues and Crusaders and pay close attention to the Brumbies.
Some were reluctant to place them as serious contenders after they knocked over the Highlanders and Hurricanes at home, suggesting they had to prove they could win in New Zealand first.
Their 38-28 win over the Chiefs in Hamilton on Saturday has made it three wins over New Zealand teams in as many weeks, improving their overall record to 10-1.
That’s equal with the Blues, who have a two-point buffer at the top of the table on the back of their demolition of the Rebels.
The Brumbies are two-time champions in 2001 and 2004 and four-time runners-up.
The Brumbies meet the Crusaders at 9.45pm Friday while Moana Pasifika face the Fijian Drua at 4.35pm Saturday.
