The Brumbies remain unbeaten in Super Rugby AU after a penalty kick by halfback Ryan Lonergan three minutes after full-time helped them to win over the Melbourne Rebels.

The reserve halfback launched a miracle 55m penalty kick in the 83rd minute to secure a stunning 27-24 win.

The teams were locked 24-all after 80 minutes but the brave Brumbies ran the ball out of their half and then secured a penalty at the breakdown.

In other results, Western Force beat the Waratahs 20-16.

In Super Rugby Aotearoa, the Highlanders defeated the Chiefs 39-23.

The Crusaders will clash with the Hurricanes at 3.35pm.
