Professor Brij Lal

Professor Brij Lal who has been placed on a ban from entering Fiji has again written to the Director of Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa for the travel ban imposed on him and his wife Padma Lal to be lifted.

In a letter to Vuniwaqa, Lal has told the Immigration Department that they will have on their files the reasons why they think this is a reasonable request.

He has also asked Vuniwaqa to inform him the reasons for the ban as they were never told by anyone in Fiji why they would not be allowed to enter Fiji, the land of their birth.

Meanwhile, the National Federation Party also calling on government to use the 100th anniversary to commemorate the arrival of the last ship carrying indentured labourers to lift the indefinite ban on former Fiji citizens Professor Brij Lal and Dr Padma Lal from entering Fiji.

We are trying to contact Vuniwaqa on Professor Lal’s new request.

However, when contacted earlier this week, Vuniwaqa mentioned  that government’s stand on Brij Lal and Padma Lal has not changed adding they have not received any new requests from these two individuals.
