A 9-year-old boy is admitted in the Sigatoka Hospital after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man yesterday morning.
Police say the man was driving towards Nadi when the accident occurred along the Queens Road near Tagitagi in Sigatoka. It is alleged the boy suddenly crossed the road. They say the driver will be brought in for questioning.
In another accident, a 20-year-old driver is admitted in the Tavua Hospital after the car he was driving veered off the road in Natawa in Tavua yesterday morning.
Police say the driver is alleged to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
A 19-year-old passenger was in the vehicle when the accident occurred but both escaped serious injuries.
In a separate case, a 15-year-old student is in a stable condition in the Lautoka Hospital after she was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old man from Lovu in Lautoka on Thursday night.
Police say the accident occurred along Drasa Avenue where the girl allegedly ran across the road.
