Singer Alka Yagnik, who ruled the Indian music scene in the 90s and 2000s with her melodious voice, has been diagnosed with sensorineural nerve hearing loss.
In an Instagram post, Yagnik disclosed that a few weeks ago, after a flight she suddenly experienced hearing loss, which doctors diagnosed as a rare nerve condition caused by a viral infection.
She expressed her shock and urged her fans to pray for her.
In her post, she also cautioned her fans, especially young colleagues, about the risk of exposure to loud music and headphones. In her career spanning over four decades, she has sung songs for more than a thousand films and recorded over twenty-one thousand songs in over 25 different languages.
