The Education Minister has issued a warning that Lami High School will be closed if the school roll does not improve soon.
Filipe Bole visited six schools between the Suva-Lami corridor yesterday.
According to the Ministry of Education, Bole was angry to see the lax attitude of parents and the school stakeholders in enrolling their students late.
Bole said there are only 60 students enrolled and this is absolutely disappointing.
He said he thinks that he will have to cancel the grant and close the school.
Bole said not only the students are late in enrollment but the classes have not seriously started and this is a waste of time and resources.
He also said that while some schools have established their rolls and seriously begun their academic school year, some schools with the mindset of the community need to change especially when education is free now.
Bole is expected to visit schools in Navua today.
