The body of a 30-year-old man from Vusuya in Nausori who is believed to have drowned has been recovered near Vunisei Village in Toga, Rewa this morning.
Police say the victim left his home to dive for freshwater mussels near Manoca on Tuesday and when he failed to return home, a report was lodged with Police through Crime Stoppers yesterday.
They say a team of divers from the Police Special Response Unit was deployed yesterday to conduct a search along the river which turned out negative.
Police adds this morning information was received of the discovery of a body found floating near Vunisei Village, and the identity of the victim has been confirmed to be that of the missing man.
