Beauden Barrett slotted a drop goal after the hooter to give the Blues a hard-fought 21-19 victory over the Brumbies in Canberra last night to secure home advantage throughout the Super Rugby Pacific playoffs.
Blues turned the ball over and made their way down to the home side's line with the referee playing advantage, but All Black's first five-eighth Barrett calmly took the three points to give his side a 12th straight win.
Blues captain Dalton Papalii says their defence was bloody hard to get through, but it was a gritty win for his team.
Meanwhile, Pita Gus Sowakula put in another workhorse shift after the Chiefs defeated the Force 54-21 in Hamilton.
In another match, the Hurricanes beat the Rebels 45-22.
The Highlanders will play the Waratahs at 3.35pm today.
