The Blues broke their nine year losing streak to the Chiefs in Hamilton as they defeated them 24-12 last night in Super Rugby Aotearoa.
Hoskins Sotutu who has links to Fiji scored the Blues first try in the 14th minute from a line-out where the forwards went to work through the pick and drive system.
The Chiefs replied through the boots of Damien McKenzie closing the gap to a 10-9 game at the break.
Beauden Barrett showed some fantastic play in the game slotting over a drop goal to widen the gap to 16-12.
Mark Telea's try sealed the Blues historic win.
The Blues have dedicated the win to the late Constable Matthew Hunt, who died in West Auckland earlier this week after a shooting incident.
