Blues has decided to cancel their Blues Footy Fest event which was planned to be held at Eden Park this Saturday after they considered all the options for the safety of their fans.
The event was to feature the pre-season match between the Blues and the Crusaders.
Blues CEO, Andrew Hore says the directive from the New Zealand government is to reduce the risk of any exposure and spread of COVID-19.
He adds finding a pre-season playing opportunity is vital to the Blues preparation for the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition.
Hore further says they are exploring all avenues in order to play a pre-season game due to its importance to the overall outcome of the competition and their ability to be a genuine contender.
