Bishop visits Penang Sangam School

Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop visited Penang Sangam School this afternoon with the Minister for Education Dr. Mahendra Reddy.

Bishop toured the 16 classrooms that were damaged by Tropical Cyclone Winston and also spoke to the Year 2 students.

The Education Ministry says some students are currently having classes at the Penang Vocational Centre while the rest were taken up to the 4 classrooms at the old building.

The school roll is 575 students.

Meanwhile, Bishop is currently visiting Rakiraki Hospital.

Bishop is expected to return to Australia later this afternoon.
