People have been urged not to buy valuable items such as mobile phones and laptops from unknown persons.
A number of valuable items have been reported stolen in the last twenty four hours.
An Apple brand Laptop worth up to $3000.00 and an I-Pad worth up to $2000.00 were stolen from Makoi.
The items belonged to a 27-year-old student.
Yesterday an unknown person stole a HP Laptop from the Dudley Vice Principal’s Office in Toorak when the teacher was attending one of the classes.
The laptop was worth $4000.00 and was not insured.
An unknown person stole the mobile phone worth $900 from the pocket of a security officer at Sand dunes Union Nightclub.
In another incident, an unknown person stole a black alcatel one touch mobile phone valued at $500.00 from a taxi which was hired by a tutor from USP to a restaurant in Suva.
Another person stole an official phone from a 36 year old employee of Suvavou House which was left inside the drawer.
A one touch screen mobile phone worth $159 belonging to a taxi controller was also stolen from outside the control room at CWM taxis.
