US President Joe Biden has led a flood of tributes to trailblazing actress and Golden Girls star Betty White, who has died at the age of 99.
Tributes also poured in from US actors who worked with White during her eight-decade film and TV career, including Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.
Other US stars took to Twitter to send their condolences and praise her many comedic acting roles.
Betty White brought a smile to the lips of generations of Americans. She’s a cultural icon who will be sorely missed. Jill and I are thinking of her family and all those who loved her this New Year’s Eve.

Born in Illinois in 1922, White became one of America's original screen stars, enjoying a career that encompassed eight decades and earned her many accolades.
White is known for her roles in The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Boston Legal.
