Bench warrant against Zoe Maharaj Moore cancelled as she appears in court this morning

The bench warrant that was earlier issued for Zoe Maharaj Moore has been cancelled as she appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.

Moore and former Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef are charged with one count each of being found in possession of 7.89 grams of methamphetamine, one count each of being found in possession of 12.49 grams of cocaine and one count each of being found in possession of 2.5 grams of marijuana.

Lateef was present in court.

Moore's lawyer Gavin O'Driscoll told court that Moore was unable to produce a medical certificate today but will present it in the next court sitting.

It was earlier told in court that Moore did not come to the last court sitting as she was sick.

She has also been granted fresh bail while Lateef's bail has also been extended.

The hearing in the case will take place from the 15th to the 17th of June this year.
