Beloved Legend FM radio personality, Maree Stewart has been laid to rest at the Suva Cemetery in Lovonilase.
Maree sadly passed away late last month, days after testing positive for COVID-19.
She was with Legend FM for 16 years.
Stewart’s close friend and former high school teacher, Vivian Koster says Stewart was absolutely bubbly, she was full of fun and had a vivacious character.
She says her son who is on the Autism spectrum is a reason why she became vocal on the subject and raised awareness on it whenever she could and it was not uncommon of her to speak about Autism on radio.
Koster says her contribution was to raise awareness on Autism and to say to everyone else that she has a beautiful son who is so loving and that she loved him very much.
She says what she remembers the most about Maree is her relationship with Koster’s late mother.
Koster says her mother and Maree both used to have stalls at the ROC Market and would admire each others baking and cooking skills.
May Maree rest in peace.
Moce mada Maree from your CFL family and all your listeners.
Meanwhile Legend FM Content Director, Alex Elbourne will be hosting an on-air and online tribute for Maree from 7pm to 10pm this Friday.
