Good news for families who rely on the sea for their income, as cabinet has approved the lifting of the bech-de-mer export ban for one-month from the 30th of this month to the 30th of next month.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says this will enable the clearing of fully processed and semi-processed bech-de-mer at the processing plants awaiting exports.
He says the ban on harvesting of sea cucumbers will remain in place during this one-month period.
