New Zealand Super Rugby teams have started pre-season training for the second time in 2020 ahead of Super Rugby Aotearoa – a New Zealand-only competition that starts next month.
One Blues player that has returned from the lockdown in top condition is All Blacks star Beauden Barrett.
It’s been more than two months since the Blues have played their last match against the Lions at Eden Park on March 14 after Super Rugby was suspended due to international travel restrictions enforced because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Blues kick-started their pre-season training with a fitness test known as the Bronco.
The training drill sees players run to-and-from a start line to 20, 40 and 60 metre marks five times without stopping.
Barrett who has not played a game for the Blues yet has set a new fitness record.
He finished with a time of 4 minutes and 12 secs, two seconds clear of Jonathan Ruru.
