Blues first-five Beauden Barrett has produced a strong contender for bombed try of the season during his team's 20-13 loss to the Chiefs last night.
With the Blues fighting their way back into the contest at a soggy FMG Stadium in Hamilton, the All Blacks star cost his team a certain five points when instead of placing the ball, he attempted to run it closer to the posts, only to put a foot on the dead-ball line in the process.
Moments earlier, Barrett had shanked a straightforward conversion which was clearly still on his mind, as he tried to give himself a more comfortable shot for his conversion once he had breached the tryline.
In another match, the Brumbies beat the Waratahs 40-36.
