Beale confirmed to join Rebels

It has been confirmed that NSW Waratahs will be losing Kurtley Beale next season.

The Waratahs have named a strong team to face the Blues, but the focus now is losing Beale, last year’s nominee for the IRB’s World Player of the Year, who has signed a AUS$2 million contract for two seasons with the Melbourne Rebels.

NSW coach Chris Hickey said that no team was bigger than one player and it would have been unwise to engage the Rebels in a bidding war with a huge contract at stake.

The Waratahs meet the Blues at 7:35pm tomorrow night.

Tonight at 7:35pm the Chiefs meet the Crusaders and at 9:40pm the Rebels meet the Highlanders.
