49-year-old Joni Raciri who allegedly murdered a 21-year-old woman at a home in Bayview Heights on Friday night has been remanded in custody.
Raciri is charged with one count of murder and one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.
It is alleged that on the 9th of June, Raciri murdered Nanise Rovovanua at Bayview Heights.
It is also alleged he caused grievous harm to 18-year-old Setaita Uduvakavo.
Acting Chief Magistrate Waleen George told Raciri that because the charges are indictable, he will be remanded in custody and the case will be transferred to the Suva High Court.
The case will be called again on the 27th of this month.
